Yes, you Can Manage Your Own Website.
Kia ora, talofa, hello everyone!
My name is Mark Fa’amaoni, but my friends call me Big Mark. And I have a confession to make: I’m a tinkerer. I like to mess with things. Figure out how they work.
When I started my photography business back in 2011, I built my own website largely because I wanted full control over it.
Fast forward to today, and I’m still building websites - but not just for me. I’m helping other small business owners take back control, just like I wanted to.
If you’ve been running your business for a while, and you have your own website, does any of this sound familiar?
- You avoid updating your website because you're worried something might break
- You have to call in a developer just to change a photo, swap out a staff member, or tweak some text
- You’ve forgotten how to update things - or never really learned how in the first place
- You’re not sure what’s still current on your site… and you’re a bit scared to look
- You had big plans for your website, but it's been stuck in “maintenance mode” for months
- You’ve outgrown your old setup, but rebuilding feels too hard or too expensive
I’ve been there.
I know what it’s like to feel stuck with a website that no longer fits, or one you’re too scared to touch in case something breaks. That’s exactly why I’ve spent the last couple of years refining how I build websites for clients like you.
One of the biggest shifts? Moving to Webflow.
Webflow is a modern website platform that gives me full design freedom - but more importantly, it gives you a way to manage your own content without digging through code or dealing with clunky dashboards. And over the past year, they’ve rolled out a bunch of new features that have made it easier than ever to create websites that are flexible, scalable, and genuinely client-friendly.
So I took all of that - the new tech, the latest best practices, and everything I’ve learned working with small businesses - and built a framework to make the whole experience better.
It’s called Blocks & Bones.
At its core, Blocks & Bones is about building smart from the start:
- Blocks you can move around, mix, and reuse
- A solid foundation built on a clear design system that keeps everything consistent across your site
- An editing experience designed for real people, not web developers
Every Webflow website I build now is built on the Blocks & Bones framework.
That means you’re getting a modern, flexible website built on a proven system - with all the benefits of Webflow, including:
- Lightning-fast hosting with no plugins or updates to worry about
- A visual editor that makes content changes super simple
- Built-in SEO tools to help people find your business
- Fully responsive design - your site will look great on any device
- Built-in accessibility features to help reach a wider audience
And on top of that, you get unlimited email support from me - Big Mark - for free.
If you ever get stuck, have a question, or just need a bit of help figuring something out, I’m only an email away.
Who this is for
This is for small business owners who want full control of their website once it’s live.
Want to add a new landing page? Change a headline? Update the navigation colour? Even overhaul the homepage? You can do all of that - without breaking anything, and without needing to come back to me.
Blocks & Bones is built to give you confidence and freedom, so your website keeps up with your business - not the other way around.
What’s next
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing more about how I built the Blocks & Bones framework: the thinking behind it, the problems it solves, and how it’s already making life easier for small business owners.
If you’re curious about the process, or just want to see how a flexible, client-first website framework comes together, keep an eye on the blog. There’s some good stuff coming.
Thanks for reading, and as always - if you’ve got any questions, just flick me an email. I’m always happy to help.
